Debate on COVID-19 Liability Bill

Early in the 2021 Missouri legislative session, Steven Roberts of St. Louis debated the need and merits of COVID-19 liability legislation, a bill that would have provided immunity to religious organizations, healthcare providers and businesses from COVID-related lawsuits.

If passed, the bill would have shielded such organizations from COVID-based lawsuits unless the plaintiffs could meet a high standard of proof. It also would have given residents up to one year to file a suit in cases of medical malpractice.
